where my cichla are
Well, i did what i said i wasn't.. i got a 240 gal aquarium, 8' x 2' x 2'. :headbang2

Now.. what do i need for filtration?

Fluval FX5?
10 emperor 400's?.. lol.

i'll most likely be buying more of the Arkansas stream pebbles that i have in the other tanks.. i like em. :nilly:

Don't know about plants and decorations yet.. probably just do rocks and such because it's mostly going to be for the peacock bass, snooks and the arowana..

i'm gonna take my time and get this one right the first time.. there is no rush, Dozer is still young, and the little dudes are only about 3 inches long still. And the arowana is still less than 1 ft long.

And then the big question is, what do i put in the 150 gal? Since i'm so totally fascinated with south american cichlids.. any suggestions?

If you don't want a sump, go with an FX5 and a Eheim 2080. I'm using that setup on my 210 and it works great. :headbang2

I'm not familiar with Eheim filters.. i only have Hagen and Marineland filters and i really don't need to stock more parts for more different kinds of filters.. i was mostly asking how much filtration..

I'll start looking at an FX5 and see which parts are interchangable with the 405's.. If they don't have interchangable parts i may just bite the bullet and buy something else if i'm gonna have to stock more different parts anyway.

Her Hubby....that would be me...dosn't like Eheim and never has...I'm thinking of an fx5 and two e400's that we have a large stock of parts for.

2260 is a huge canister.. same size as the fx5 if not bigger.. im sayin eheim cuz theyre known for handlin the bio load and fx5 is known for the mech filtration... i myself have 2 fx5s on my 210.. and i got it for 210 a piece with shipping if i remember correctly.
