New to MFK! New to PBass ownership! Lets talk..

Hey there everyone..

My name is Tim, and I am a new to MFK. I have heard many things from my LFS about this website regarding large fish, so here I am! I recently bought an awesome 3" PBass and am currently keeping him in a 30 gal. with a couple fish that I will soon be passing along to a friend. I live in an apt. and am moving in 1 mo. (thats why hes in a 30 gal.) I have a little issue going on here. He WILL NOT eat anything besides live feeders. I have even tried putting fishing line through the mouth of a frozen (defrosted of course) feeder and pulling it through the water and he ate it! but quickly spit it out. So, does anyone have any tips to get this guy off live feeders? I dont want him to get a disease from pet store bacteria.

(don't mention the tank size, the second I'm unpacked I'm ordering my 250 gal.)

Basically throw feeders at the surface and get the bass used to attacking without thinking. Then start throwing in tilapia, shrimp, pellets, etc.

I just acquired a couple Azuls, 12" and 19". The big one has never eaten pellets. Usually just mouths them and spit em out. Anyways, the feeding frenzy of my other fish has recently got him to start eating them. Hopefully yours will learn!
