Hello, I'm illustrae, I live in New England, USA, and I've been into fishkeeping for a measley 2 years now. I have four tanks right now: a little 7 gallon shrimp colony, a 10 gallon with female bettas, a 30 long planted tank home to a trio of Pearl gouramis, a mess of tetras, rasboras, and dwarf bue-eye rainbows, and a handful of dwarf cories. Then I have a 65 gallon tank set up to house a "common" pleco that 6 years ago lived in the little 7 gallon. There are also SAEs, A bunch of male rainbows of different types, a lone juvenile angelfish (I lost the others in a power outage :( ), and a few dwarf crayfish (procambarus hinei).

There, now that that's over with, let's move on, shall we...

I clearly have an addiction, but then, most of us here do. I've been seeing some oddballs for sale near me recently, and I really, really want to keep them. Of particular interest to me is the "monster fish" seen in this article (http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=189), a peacock eel (or two), and the African butterfly fish. Now, from what I've read, the biggest challenge with any of these fish is making sure they eat, but if you can keep them fed, they are relatively easy to keep. My main question is whether all of these animals can be kept together, and if a 40 gallon tank (36x13x18) would be large enough to house them long-term.
