Hello everyone. I am new to MFK, atleast as a member. I have looked and lurked for a while. Oh, my name is Jason. I live in Southern California. Matter of fact, I just purchased a business called Tropical fish house and Pets in the local area. I figured if im going to be a tropical fish house owner, i had better learn as much as I can about the topic. Anyhow, I have been a casual aquarist for about 5 years now. Freshwater. Current set up is a 100gallon tank with a 24inch silver arowana, 10 inch tiger oscar, 8 inch peacock bass and a 8 inch 4 stripped catfish with the appropriate plecos for clean up. Tank is very basis 3/4 inch of gravel and thats it. Fluval 405 and a 150 gallon rated wet/dry filter as well. I will be reading and learning as much as I can about this hobby and if anyone has any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask. Have a great day.

Jason

Welcome!

Not to start already ;) But I would increase the Flow and or filtration if you are not going to uprade the tank yet.

Filters are flawed in one way.. This is just my opinion ;) They say they are capable of filtering gallons and not fish.

The gallon Rating is flawed as it doesn't tell you anything about how many fish or size of fish it is capable of properly filtering your tank for.

Welcome Again
