idk how all of you will react to this but that's fine because I'm just looking to see ideas. I have a 135g with 75g sump, but what I'm actually curious about is i want to set up a lighting system that has a slow transition from one color to another the leds will be waterproof and to be on the safe side I'm putting it also in a clear plastic tubing for further protection. I'm still undecided on whether it should be somewhat put in the water or just keep it attached to my lid so what do you all think

Personally speaking, i would probably keep it on the lid, but with that being said, IF you could find a way to hide the lights at the bottom of the tank, near the back so it lights the tank from the bottom up, that could also look pretty interesting...

i have two overflows one on each corner and i was thinking basically to outline them so the lighting stays close to the walls keeping the fish from moving them my main concern was if the lighting would be to bright for the fish

Well, that part i can't help you with? Although i guess you could probably add some sort of dimmer system to the LED lighting to prevent it from being too bright?

Placing it in the corners could work? but in all honesty until you actually see it setup its hard to say if it would work or not... i originally was going to add submersible LED lighting under my paludarium, but the lighting didn't work out as well as i thought and i took it out...

You can buy submersable LED wands in different colors online that should work for your idea, as for dimming and transitioning them the best way would probably be to make a controller using an arduino microcontroller. There have already been DIYs on here using this method so a quick search should find them. I believe a few of them even have the software available so you would only have to tweak it a little bit for your application.
