Hello to all. I am back in the fish world. Not really new to the hobby but to this site and a new tank. I took off a couple years in owning fish. I just had no space for it and was moving alot, we all know fish don't like to move around. I currently have a 72 gallon bow front with some baby fish. Hoping all will grow healthy and large. I joined this site to brush up on some topics, and also for tank ideas and things of that nature. be patient with me cause I'm new here but i'm sure we will all get along. thanks for your time and happy fish keeping!!! Hello Everybody !
My name is Richard and I am new in monsterfishkeepers, I live in Thailand and I register today ! Normaly I do stingrays and Tanganyika, start with Arowanas in october !
I dont realy know what is a monsterfish but I can tell you about my new project.
Last year me and a friend bought 2 arapaima gigas and I kept them in a small pond (12000 liter) in my friends garden, we saw them in a shop and they looked very unhappy.Today they are 130 cm, 25 kg and very happy. We liked them so much that we bought 8 more of them, they are between 150-220 cm but they still live with their former owners and we bring them here in a week from now. We also have 5 Aligator Gars from before.
5 weeks ago me and my friend decided to make a bigger pond 10x5x1,10 meter, the constructor started 4 weeks ago and today the local firebrigade came with the 55000 liter of water we needed. Tomorrow we start the pump- and filtersystem. We pump 25000 liter/hour and we have 4x18w UV-lights connected to the filtersystem.
We rent a big truck with a tank on it (12000 liter) for the transport and tomorrow I will speak with a veterinarian about the transport, maybe we have to drug them during the transport.

Can somebody on the forum help me with this, the biggest arapaima is 40-45 kg, how to do ?????

Best regards, Richard

search African tigerfish, snake heads for predators.

search lungfish, pacu, arrowanna for some monsters.
