Just joined MFK today, glad to be here!

Ive kept Monster fish in the past but this is my first go at Pbass. I recently got 3 small ones, 2-3 inches tops. Also got 2 similar sized Red tail / Tiger shovel nose hybrids with them. Nice and healthy, the little devils were feeding vigorously on frozen bloodworms 4 hours after I got them home. Any info on getting these guys off on the right foot would be awesome! Basic stuff like feeding schedule while they are young, recommended water temps, stuff like that.

Thanks for any info and glad to be a member!

Welcome to MFK :D As for feeding schedule for these young ones...I would feed once in the morning, evening then at night. Temps can be at 82-86 Degrees, reason being at high temps as young peacock basses seem to get sick real easy and Ich is one of the things that kill them...Your food is great for them till the 5-7" mark and then try getting them onto pellets if you like too. Keep your waters soft and low PH...just have a piece of driftwood to keep the waters PH low. You can give them treats once a week with live foods to keep them on their fins :headbang2

Good Luck with your new Peacock Basses =)

Awesome, thanks a ton! Ive been succesful in the past keeping big mean fish, hoping to carry that on here. Ive just got them in a 75g at the moment but this has given me a real reason to get the ol' lday to release a purchase order for me in the next couple months to get the 300+ :headbang2

Welcome to MFK :D Pbass aren't hard. Just feed them at least once a day when they're small. I feed about 3-5 times at that size. Feeders maybe once a week to get some more size on them. Other than that, mix up their diet. I fed mine Freeze-Dried Shrimp for so long that they didn't eat anything else except those and feeders.
