well i got my first pbass today. its about 4" long. its in a 75 for now. what should i feed it? i got some pellets but it hasnt ate them yet, im going to start breeding guppies for food. an ID would be great if you can, pictures are here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=566562#post566562 and just any pointers for a beginner would be great. thanks

i just feed him some bloodworms and it ate them. so i guess ill be feeding that unless there is something else

At that size load him up with whatever he will eat and keep the temp at at least 82

It is hard to say at small sizes what kind it is probably a mono :)

Good luck with him/her

bloodworms work, just try some freeze dried krill.Even toss some roseys in there..Its best to mix it up!!!

Stick with pellets. He's 4" now, no sense on getting him started on frozen/live food. He proabably hasn't ate them because of stress, take them out and wait til late tommorrow to feed him. Also kinda throw it in so it makes a ripple as it his the water to get his attention.

ok thanks for the info. he gobbles up the bloodworms, and i got some omega one cichlid pellets for him

my little ones eat like twice their weight in frozen krill 2 times a day, you could try that. I agree with the mix it up stuff. Try not to give him pellets after pellets he will get bored and stop eating. Try to vary the diet. Oh and 1 more thing how are you going to fill up the stomach of a 15 inch carnavor with cichlid pellets? it just doesn't work.

thanks i gave him some pellets today and he takes them but he chews them for like 30sec and spits them out and they look like they havent been chewed at all. then might be to hard for him to chew or something. for now he is on bloodworms. you know any good sinking pellets

I was feeding mine with frozen bloodworm when I first got mine. Should get a few of them...they're fun to watch them follow each other around (almost like they're shoaling). I feed mine right now on FD Shrimp. They absolutely love it!
