I was visiting the Tennessee aquarium and they had a stunning display with some ocellerus (not sure if that is spelled right) peacock bass. They were the most stunning fish I have ever seen. I have always been interested in either keeping these guys or taking a fishing trip for them. But seeing them in that display really made me think about trying to keep them at home.

I have a 220g tank with a ton of filtration that is currently stocked. Please tell me what would have to be removed to be able to keep 1-3 peacocks (I'm not sure what # to keep)

Current stock list

Pair of Uaru's 8-10 inches
tiger oscar 13 inches
super red severum 7 inches
pair of Geo altifrons 6 inches
EB jack dempsey 5 inches
Female Jack Dempsey 7 inches
A few small grow out severums ranging from 3-4 inches

So, what if any of these fish could be kept with a Ocellerus peacock bass? How agressive do the bass get with other tankmates? Is my tank even large enough to house one long term?

Thanks for any info :)

if it were me id get rid of the oscar and pair of geos, but everybodys different, and everybodys views on whats overstocked are different.. in a 240 you could keep 1 or 2 in there for a good while.
What are the measurements?

so its a 6x2x2.5ft high? you should be cool then with what i told you above :)

IMO you could keep like 4 of them in there.
but i dont know about keeping cichla with all those cichlids cause im not familiar with cichlids.
