first off i just was wondering on what kind of peacock i had exactly gotten? i was told it was a temensis when i bought it? is this right? are there different sub species?
here's a picture.

also i was wondering on what sort of diet to feed this guy. right now he Is eating HIkari Food Sticks (colour enhancing) and of course live minnows/fish HE loves!

Nice little Temensis! How big is he? If he is real small then I'd just feed feeders because they will get him to the size he needs(to where you can get him on pellets) without starving as a baby which is bad...

So he IS a Temensis? i just did a search on this too..there is a Spotted type and a Bar Type too..to me mine looks to have more bars than spots, but i guess that could change?

he is on Pellets now (sticks actually) but i guess when he does get larger then alarger pellet is in order?

full grown what do you feed these guys, will they take fish fillet's and things that my RTC would eat?

i think he is about 4-5 inches long as of right now.

Yes he is a Temensis.. Sorry I didn't read your post all the way through lol.. The bars(I think you're reffering to the white bars) will go into speckles when older/larger. Here is a couple pics of my old 22" Temensis for you. Their adult size is 40"... You can get him on other pellets like Hikari sinking carnivore or Hikari massivore delite. You can also feed market shrimp to them(the frozen ones that your super market has). Make sure you get the shrimp with no salt on them though. You can also feed like any fish that is on sale at your super market just cut it up(catfish and tilapia are the cheapest).

the man in the second pic is Johnny Morris, pro bass angler legend and creater of bass pro shops- and it's rare to see tems with that color in captivity only wild caught ones really get that color and lose there speckleing.
