So i recently made a thread in the crencichla media lounge about my new pike, i was so excited i've been wanting a pike for so long but the only ones i could find were already larger ones +8" and i wanted small ones! I made another thread a month or 2 ago about a proteus pike and red wolf fish my lfs was getting in, but that was later pushed back a couple weeks because an air company strike so i still had to wait. He then finally got the shipment in and didn't get proteus but small johannas and small cintas! The cintas were only $10 and i started to like the cinta and was so happy because i loved the way they looked. Now he recently updated and changed the name to proteus, so looks like i have a proteus again not as happy as i was with a cinta but still quite happy. The store is good a recutable i get mistakes happen especially since like 90% of his stuff is wild caught still my favorite lfs. So now i just wante a confirmed ID on this guy so i won't be guessing anymore! and if you know the growth rates. Sorry i like to leave stories and i still am considering a Lugubris pike maybe a johanna ;)

Looks like Cr. lucius to me ...

And even the good LFS get pike ID wrong sometimes, they can be an absolute PITA to ID.

500th post! what do you guys feed your crencichla? The normal cichlid food? mine loves bloodworms but doesnt go for pellets really, ive seen him eat then a bit. Could this be because hes w/c

You'll have to pellet train him. It's pretty easy if you have healthy pikes. Having tankmates who devour pellets will also help.
