I'm new to pike cichlids and want to know about them as I'm trying to find one at a lfs. Anyone got any pics or info i could use. I've looked online but I find it better to ask on here from people who have kept them. Pics would be great.
Best advice I personally could give you is to just start reading the threads in this forum. There is such an incredible wealth of information here waiting to be gleamed and processed. There are trials and errors, successes, observations, and lengthy discussions all right here.
Are you looking for larger, more aggressive pikes? Or smaller, 'less' aggressive ones? More color? Price range? Tank space?
All these are factors that can help us help you if we know them.
Welcome to the world of Crenicichla btw! They are absolutely amazing! Addicted to them am I!
What dwarf or medium sized pike cichlids could be housed with these fish in a 75 gallon until i set my 125 or 180 gallon tank. All fish I have now are still small
my tank includes the following fish.
1 severum
3 bichirs
1 angel fish
common pleco
1 ropefish
1 firemouth
all the dwarfs would be to small i would think i would be worried about them being outgrown and becoming food. unless they were full grown but then wheres the fun in that. i never was a fan of buying adult fish.
