Ok, I got a 200 gal tank which is holding 2 small pacu's. I want to displace the pacus with some piranhas. I am thinking that the rbp would be the way to go. About 10 of them?

Or, I really like the sanchezis color and shape. Is the sanchezi a solatary kind a fish? I prefer a bunch of them, but do not know whether the sanchezis would eventually eat each other up ( that would be an expensive way to feed them, lol).

If someone can help me get either kind to my neck of the woods that would greatly be appreciated.

yeah, go with 10 reds, you wont regret it. i love mine. where are you located?

I would try about 15 reds. Another possibilty if available to you would be about 8 Piraya, Ternetzi, or Caribe or a mixture of the Pygo species.

If you feel you have the ability/time/effort to carefully monitor the fishs' condition you could try to co-hab 3 small S. Sanchezi or gold spilos in such a large tank. I have read that Spilos have bred in captivity so you may have better chance with them co-habing then the Sanchezi.

its a 200, not a 2000. 3 serras are gonna find each other. i wouldnt try it. if hes in austin like autin tex, he wont be able to get any any way.

I said he could try. I think Three 3" Sanchezi could work and I would almost bet money that 4 or 5 Spilos would work because they are Co-habed quit frequently. The guy I bought my Caribe from had 12 spilos in a 100 long with little problem once he weeded out the trouble makers.

You are in FL and have 30 reds so what makes you think he cant get any?

i work for one of the biggest breeders in the us, i have a permit. not everyone has a closed loop system as they cost about 5grand. i have them legally.

all the same im not saying he cant, but i wouldnt go on a public forum looking for an illegal fish. might as well post an add in the paper looking for drugs. im sure its agenst some sort of MFK rule to look for illegal fish anyway... just lookin out.

A nice school of rbp would be great in a 220 (10-20), though once they get big you may have to upgrade the tank or seperate the school.
