So I'm planning to get a t5 HO 2 bulb fixture from Fishneedit.com with 6700k Bulbs. I'm fairly new to the planted scene, so I wanted to ask a couple questions.

My Tank is currently: 55 gallon, Emperor 400 $ 280, 200 watt heater.
I've seen a few charts that say having 2 bulbs of t5 HO right on top of my tank is going to put me at high lighting. But most of the articles state that with high lighting tanks, you'd need to dose ferts. I'm don't intend to fert nor dose CO2. Would having a higher population of fish in the tank make up for not dosing ferts? Or would I just be screwing myself?
Maybe I should get only 1 white bulb and a BLue/Pink instead? Or something else?
