I am going to be starting a 55g tropical freshwater tank by transferring a 38g into it, but i want to add plants into the 55. My tank will mostly have tetras and corys in it. i was thinking of using these plants in combination with rocks/driftwood. Anachris (Egeria densa), Narrow leaf giant temple (Hygrophila corymbosa 'siamensis'), Baby tears (Micranthemum umbrosum), Ruffled sword (Ecginodorus martii), and java moss ([FONT=arial, sans-serif]Taxiphyllum barbieri). now im completely okay with dropping some items etc. what would i need in addition to just running my tank as normal to get these plants to flourish.

side note, i will be adding a 20lb bag of flourite sand to the 55g to help the plants.

thanks

And Welcome To MFK!

I forgot to mention i have a 214w lighting system currently with 4 6500 t5 bulbs in it

i will upload pics, im actually waiting on a darned couch to arrive before setting the 55g up as its going between my foyer and the couch...

That should be fine!:)

also can i just use rocks i find outside and boil to build my aquascape? Just seems that most rocks at pet stores is limited and i dont feel like shipping rock.

That's fine i don't have to run the whole light fixture. I can just run 2 of the bulbs which is all I was really planning on doing.

Make sure to do the vinegar test first, if the vinegar bubbles, you can't use 'em.
