I have been keeping monsters for serveral years and now find myself in need of (and wanting) some plecos to go in with the big boys. From what I have read I will need to grow them myself, which is fine and perferred, but what I cannot figure out is which ones I should get. I don't want to spend thousands on a pleco but I also don't want the run of the mill standard black pleco I see in every lfs and walmart. I need info on diet and compatibility. I currently have:

2 x 4" cichla mono
5" delhezi bichir
10" delhezi bichir
9"senegal bichir
9" TSN
14" TSN
10" brachyplatystoma juruense
15" marble achara
2 x 10" chitala
20" RTC
Looking to add more but the selection of good fish here is very limited. Should be needless to say, but I will anyway. No, these aren't all in the same tank. They are spead out in grow out tanks while the big one is being built. I would like plecos that will grow big and be colorful or have a good looking pattern if possible. If not than something that will grow large. Thanks in advance for the help.

Id recomend looking into royal plecos. Sometimes your lfs might get in larger ones which would be better since royals grow slow. They would also be a little harder to eat if you plan on putting them in with your big cats.

Seeing as most if not all of his stock he listed are carnivores I would strongly recomend against the royals. A diet high in protein can be deadly to them.
