New to Plecos - What is it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thats a hillstream loach

That fish will die from the temp. Put it in a seperate tank or give it away. For you to keep it in warm water is poor fish husbandry.

either am I... my wife's friend brought them over lastnight... I'm gonna leave them in with Buster (my RTC) and we'll see how long they last LOL

I don't think they will enjoy living here anyway since I keep the water to warm for them :D LOL
Perhaps you should give them to someone who can take good care of this fish. I'm very disappointed in your decision but that's all I can say. I concur with WyldFya on this.

Thanks for your opinions... They were in fact already moved to another tank shorty after I learned of what they need...Since they were a "rescue" I had no intention of keeping them to begin with so just taking them in from my wife's friend is good husbandry. They are in fact very happy little fish in their little private world tank.

Oh and FYI... They wouldn't have died from that temp as they were in a tank with a temp of 76 which is on the highside of the norm.

I actually take GREAT care of all my fish, some are just meant to be food... which I had actually considered for these... I have however had a change of heart after doing my research on these little critters and they have been moved to their own tank which is a slightly lower temp tank and they could have lots of glass to stick to and eat all the alge they could ever want.

Sorry to have disappointed you :grinno:
