new to pond

I am buying a house and it has a lil outdoor pond with a liner in it .. right now it has plants in it but i want it to be a lil koi pond... is about 6 feet long and maybe 2 feet deep. where do i need to get started as far as filter and stuff all i need is basic if someone can lead me to right direction?

First, clean the liner make sure you start fresh, who knows what may have gotten into the pond (insecticide etc). Then inspect the liner, make sure it's not punctured or anything. Then think of your filtration, do you want to make one, or buy one etc. Fill it up, use water conditioner turn on your filter, throw a bunch of feeder fish in there and let it cycle for a month. Then test the water to make sure it's cycled, If it is, get some koi.

Don't get koi if the pond is only 2 foot deep.
