I am new to rays and I DO NOT trust the max size listed on any fish sites for all the different rays there are so I have a couple of questions for you guys.

Are there any freshwater rays that can live in a 8 ft x 32in footprint FOR LIFE that is not too expensive?

Are they readily available?

Are they hard to get off of live food?

Will they get along with cichla?

Are they more on the hardy side or are they fragile?

Yes I live in Louisiana and I am lost on the whole fines thing. Are they illegal here? If so I have seen a lot of people breaking the law.

50 fathoms and tropical fish and more is my favorite two pet stores.

I just called 50 fathoms and they said rays are perfectly legal in Louisiana and they can get me a Motoro ray for $100.
I know female motoro's will outgrow my tank but doesn't males stay on the smaller side? Will a male outgrow a 32" wide tank?
