Hi people
Don't know weather this is in the right place but I'm getting 2 BD rays in a few months and I need to know the best way to acclimate them and how to do water changes i.e. Do I put straight tap water in to top up or do I have to treat it before hand ? As the bloke I'm getting them off used straight tap water to top up but surely the chlorine is bad for rays ?
I've also been told to put 100g per of salt per 100litres of water for stress ?

Can someone please help me out.
Thanks

Get some 50 gallon drums to treat the water in. How big is the tank?

Water conditioner like prime.

Also what is your filtration. On a 125 even with those two rays, you're gonna be doing a lot of water changes... 50% a week
Ok would it be best to install a drip system ? And if so do I take it straight from my water line untreated or run it through a RO filter ?

I'm thinking of building a fluidised filter but not sure how big of a sump I'd need and how much k1 etc

My honest opinion- for the sake of the rays, which happens to be a beautiful creature, please allow someone else to keep them. BD's are not for the novice and especially someone with zero to little knowledge of water chemistry (sorry, dont mean to offend). I thank you for coming to this forum for information, and again my comment is mine only and I'm sure others will disagree. Ray keeping is a challenge, a fun one that is. And commitment is key. Again, sorry if I offended and it was not my intention.

Thanks for the reply and don't worry not offended at all pal I have some sort of clue I've kept other fish but I really want rays now but I was told by the person I'm getting them off he tops his water up by straight tap water and I just wanted to get some other opinions on this but he tells me he has done this for years and his rays are fine.
