new to reptiles

Im wanting to get into reptiles, (snakes specifically), so does anyone know of any books, forums, web sites that could help out?

honestly this is a good one and a ball python, corn snake, and garter are some of the good beginner snakes

I personally like suggesting a small king or milk snake, a children's python, or if you have a bit higher of a budget and a bit more time to spend caring for it, a rainbow boa.

I would not get a rainbow boa, as hatchlings they need HIGH humidity.

I say for a starter snake a king cobra, inland taipan, or maybe a jamesons mamba. I am just kidding I was in the mood for a stupidly sarcastic answer. But yeah get a kingsnake, milk snake or ball python. If you get a kingsnake get a little bit older one, as babies they can be A** holes and like to bite and LOVE to musk, which may turn you off to snakes

Yes, but that's why I said if you have a higher budget and more time to spend caring for it. Misting a cage or setting up a fogger doesn't require too much experience keeping reptiles, so I don't consider it a huge factor.

I keep hearing that about king snakes and have never had that problem.... =/
Kings, milks, corns, garters, childrens pythons all make good beginners... ball pythons make good beginners if you are prepared for problem feeders and know that they like to stop eating for no reason.
