I count sea snakes. They are venomous snakes that has the capability to bite a human. I don't know why it would be ruled out. Bites from inland taipans are incredibly rare as well, and I don't believe there are any confirmed cases of bites on people in the wild from inland taipans, except those on herpetologists trying to capture the snake, or otherwise harass it. That was the point I was making. Hydrophis Belcheri has the most toxic venom of any snake on the planet, but I don't consider them even top 5 due to their reluctance to bite. I was just saying that to state a snake as being the deadliest, wouldn't need to have more than 10-20 (or whatever small number it is, I don't know exactly, but it is small) confirmed bites, like the taipan has?
I would tend to agree more with Sylvias. I can't see a snake being the "deadliest" if it only bites scientist who are fondling them for studies. I mean its a solid #1 in toxicity if you totally rule out sea snakes, but I don't know why you would. And were talking deadliest, not most toxic. There are really too many factors to come up with a solid #1 "deadliest snake", but sea snake don't get the respect they deserve.
I follow that up by saying that if you get bit by a taipan or a Hydrophis Belcheri, I would update your will on the way to the hospital, if you aren't unconscious yet, cause that venom is gonna mess you up.
