With some 25 years in salt, and mod of the salt section, the first thing I always say to new people getting into salt is to read a good and reputable book on the subject. The link below is a great and quick read to get your feet wet.

Second; sometimes too much advice can be bad if you get information from any person online it could be great or not. Sometimes your local fish store has good staff or your local aquarium society can be sources of good advice. Or, if you like, private message me anytime.

hey guys just a quick question. Can you use pool salt that states only ingredients is sthat a salt to salt up the water for your marine fish?

If you're serious, I would have to say no. Most salt mix that is purchased has specific added elements that are needed for your fish and corals to live a happy life.
