Hey guys. I have decided to take the plunge into saltwater. I have a question regarding lighting. I'm gonna go with T-5's. The tank is a 125 6' x 18" My intention was to use two 36" lights with legs but I have a concern. I see from the picture that the light has the fan placed directly on the side. If my tank is 72" that means the two 36" lights will be butt up right against each other. To me this would be very bad to have the fans basically right next each other. Should I stagger them so they are not directly in line with each other? These are the lights I was planning on ordering.

I am going to take this slowly and it will probably begin as a fish only with live rock tank. But over time I am going to add corals.

Any input would be appreciated.

I would think that you could just stagger them and it wouldnt be that big of deal.

Ditto but wouldn't one be pointed the same direction of the other one? For instance... right side right side, instead of right side left side?

Flip one around so the fans are at each end of the tank. Problem solved.

Thank you kindly for all the responses. Have any of you done this personally? I'm wondering how it will look visually. The other option was to just get a 72" to cover the entire tank but the few I have found are 600$ and up. I'm already spending more than I wanted on the two 36"

I would space them slightly to allow flow between the bulbs and for longer bulb life as well.
