Hello , my name is Brian , I just bought a 250 gallon fish tank off line with tons of stuff but, but most of it is written in German where the tank and all the accessories came from, It has 3 predrilled holes in the tank and looks like it had a sump filter in it, but it only has 2 of the pipes being going to a a canister filter model eheim 2250, I read that the. Canister filters aren't that great of biological filters. Should I run a wet/dry sump or will the canister filter work for me if I use live rock and/or sand?I'm looking to put in a bamboo shark or 2, a couple sting ray and a eel, any advice, Thanks

You might be a better response in the shark section. Usually people make a refugium with live sand and live rock. I don't think its possible in a canister because you need a light for it as well

Shouldn't put even 1 of those sharks in a 250. They get too big. If you want a shark stick with the coral cat sharks as they only get to be about 24" max. But see below about why sharks will be a bad idea in such a small tank.

The best solution for filtration is at least 2 pounds of live rock per gallon for bio media. You can use the 2250 for mechanical/bio if you want to help but rely on the live rock for the bio.

With that being said 500+ pounds of live rock leaves very little room for a shark so I would suggest you ditch the shark idea unless you can get that much rock in a sump and keep it out of the main tank.

I also suggest you look into a protein skimmer rated for 300 gallons or more as this helps remove excess buildup of proteins in the water column and does keep things more stable. (IMO)
