I have a 300g stock tank I want to fill with saltwater and leave on my back lani. Even though I have had many tanks and ponds I have never tried my hand at any saltwater set ups. Other than adding the water I do not have the first clue on what to do. If someone could lead me in the right direction as to lighting, filter, live rock etc. What is needed and what isnt. That would be a huge help. Thanks for your help in advance.

Live rock 1-2 lbs/gal. , Sand 1lb/ gal.,RO/Di unit, Sea salt, salinity tester, storage for making seawater,circulation pumps, heater, sump-refugium, skimmer, coral, fish. I probably forgot something. All that is the reason I haven't gone salt yet. Good luck.
