I live on the intercoastal in Tampa. I plan on cast netting a few fish off my dock and putting them in my 29 gal tank . I just want to take 5 gal buckets of water off the dock to do my water changes. Will this work?

bad idea. there will be diseases and many other things in the water that you do not want. also the fish will need to be quarenteened (sorry i butchered that word) before they are introduced into the tank. that is if you plan on also buying fish from a store. if you are only going to put fish you net into ur tank its a different storry. if that is so then the ocean water should be fine.
Plus, you also have to check on the local laws...Some places its illegal to do that..just worth looking into...
