New to silver arowana

I bought a silver arowana 6 inches 10 days before. He is eating every thing but not active not moving in tank 700litres 5x1.5x3 cubic feet. I have canister filter and 300watt thermostat and air bubble in half the tank. He is standing at the water level. What should do please help. I think he is afraid of something.
I am feeding him with hikari food stick carnivorous and live fish and meal worms but are drowning I he is not able to eat as he is not active.

If the Aro is eating that's that's great to hear, Aro's like the surface level , keep in mind in the wild they ambush insects, birds that rest on branches over them. They will explore the lower regions of the aquarium once they are comfortable.

Btw Flukers reptile, and aquatic food manufacturer has freeze dried meal worms that even when broken will float, feed them occasionally to my African butterfly fish

Should I place one more thermostat 300watt in it? Or I must change the tank or few month transfer arowana to smaller tank? Seachem mealworm will float when broken in half? I must try.

What is the temperature in the aquarium now? As long as the Aro can get food I wouldn't move Aro. The Aro will grow fast if fed well, and water is in great condition.

Arowana are very skittish and afraid of most things when juvis , I wouldn't move him to a smaller tank just let it get used to the one he's in (your need a bigger one eventually) give your aro time to get used to its new surroundings it'll soon be smashing food and coming out a lot more your patience will pay off I'm the end
