New to silver arowanna

Not so new to the fish . Growing up see my dad and family owning arowanna .

lately I want to own one .The place that usually sell arowanna . No longer carry them .

any one here know a good place online or store selling the silver arowanna . I know Asian arowanna is illegal here in Texas or USA .

I have 75 gallon for him . In few month I would like go 200 gallon

is having male or female silver arowanna any different .

7-9 month ? That a very long time to have plenty of time for upgrade

Welcome aboard

I suggest to wait before getting the Silver Arowana and purchase a aquarium 3ft wide and 8ft long that will be minimal for a Silver Arowana. If you got a small one and grew the Aro in the 75 gallon maybe 9-10 months before it outgrown the 75.

If you want to venture into arowanas, silver may not be the best choice for you for the 200g, try getting either jardini or leichardti arowanas ( Australian arowanas).
Body shape is similar to Asian arowana and they don’t grow as large as silvers. They just dont have as good of a colouration as asians. Good luck!

Please I’ve made this mistake. Don’t buy the fish until you’re 110% positive that you can comfortably home him happily for life.

I don’t live in the USA so I don’t know where to buy jardini/ leichardti from. Others can chime in. They are suitable enough for the 200g.

SRD flowerhorn cichlid might be my second option for my ready 75 gallon tank, look like 75 gallon for 1 single flower horn is good for life ,

When I able to get 175+ gallon tank, I properly look into jardini arowana
