Sup guys
im a new to the site and wanted to intro myself

have been busy with aquariums since i can remember.... ok about 5.

but this is my first arow.

im up to a 150 gal 4 feet wide

i have a jardini, i almost drove over 2 hours to san diego.
but remembered to check out my local asian community little siagon here in westminster california

he is about 8-10 . got em for 100 bucks in san diego they had em for 85 but this is fine

he eating.. and he is got to be one of the coolest fish i have ever had. were still getting to know each other. so far so good.

i have some plastic plant and i see him attacking them sometimes and was worried if he might choke if a piece comes off or just gets it stuck in his mouth.

i think i know the answer i dont want to take chances... anything that can possibly happen will happen....

also the tank is about 78f now

in the winter it can get to 70f any prob with this at his size.

oh yea about me i like reloading my own ammo and shoot a 24 inch barrel marlin lever action 1895cb its a 45-70 ohh yeaa feels good! messing with plants/bonsai is relaxing
and surfing is my other world

oops almost forgot i have 1959 ford f250 with a mopar 440.

thanks in advance for any suggestions see you around.

Why are you adding salt? Arowanas are freshwater fish.

I would only do salt as a form of treatment of disease/parasite.

Did I read it right? Your tank is only 4 feet?? If I read it right you'll need to upgrade. Also if he has tank mates they'll probably end up as his punching bags (depending on the fish)

Need to buy a heater, arowana are tropical fish and extended time at 70 degrees will cause health problems

uh yea Arowanas are fresh water fish. so the only reason to use salt is for treatment.

looks like i ll be heating the tank for the winter..and looking at a longer tank..whew..

No tank mates except a pleco

thanks for the advice.
