Hi! and Welcome to MFK!!

Very nice setup! How long has the tank been setup? I second the hood comment, what brand are they..?

I was curious also about your oscar, it seems to have a strang coloration to it .. maybe it was the flash or something..

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome

The hood is made by marine land and it struck me odd also when i was buying it the lights are LED with to modes day and night pretty cool.

The tank has been up for a few weeks now and doing good no issues other then thinking about what else i want to keep in it.

I also did use a flash so yea thats the reason for the Oscar looking so pale

welcome back to the hobby.

hopefully when you say "starting off small" you mean that youll be upgrading soon. that oscar is going to need a bigger tank in the next 4-6 months or so. Tey grow at about 1-1.5" a month (mine grew 2" a month), they can reach 14" long (which is just the length, they get huge.), and they need at least a 125g (IMO it should be 150-200 minimum)

the tank looks great though, cant wait to see where it goes

Now I remember I've seen this setup at Petsmart, was curious what the night time light looked like...
