im looking for a suitable fish to go with a red tail gold and someone suggested stinrays.
im new to this so size price avaibility food just general info will do, tank size (ive got a 6' 2' 2' tank and it will go in there )

I would say go with a 5-7" motoro ray to start with....it will need a wider tank in the long run due to them getting close and voer 24".....Very hardy and nice looking.....some have kept them in that size, and they are fine...but your redtail will out grow that tank also....Pond???

It varies on how much you feed it....The ray will get id say maybe close to an inch a month maybe more depending on tank size and feedings....This is the growth of my rays....It might vary.....

Rays eat raw fish , squid , prawns . earth worm etc..If you have no knowledge of keeping rays do some serious home work before purchasing one.. If you are not intending on getting a bigger tank go for a scobina as these rarely reach more than 12" disc..

:iagree: ...they are several threads and a great fresh water sting ray book you canpick up and read......not for the novice fish keeper, they are pretty pricy and the feedings are not that cheap either....it requires alot of time and dedication too

Reasearch is the best thing you can do befor buying a new ray. I did a lot of reasearch before even considering on getting one. I have a 5in P. reticulata right now and I feed it bloodworms, live blackworms, mysis shrimp, krill, and squid for now.
