Well i got a 8" aro yesterday for 40$ its was 50% off, good deal? anyways i had the place feed him before i bought him, he ate some guppies and the guy said he also eats frozen krill. so when i got home he was swimming around all nice no one even noticed him. but when i got home from work today he was hidding and i noticed some missing scales. this pissed me off so the first thing i did was divide the tank, after that he started to swim around again normally. tried to feed him but he did not eat the FD or frozen krill i gave him. what else should i try? and as far as suspects i think it was my false red terror, he picks on everyone, im going get rid of him. what do you guys think? think he will be ok? ill post pics later

Can I ask what kind of arowana it is? I would guess a silver? Just leave the tank divided for a few months and let the arowana grow. Then undivide it and see what happens. Oh yeah about food, have you ever tried crickets, mealworms, superworms? You could feed them pellets or frozen krill. Try to get your arowana on Hikari Carnivore or Azoo Sticks. If you want to try worms

cool....post some pics.

Nice.. It could have been ur FRT... Give him some time to get back to normal.. He'll eat soon..don't worry...

BTW..u did'nt mention what aro did u get...

An 8" aro is not going to do well in a divided 75g tank. I would hope that you realize that this aro will be 24" long in about a year and at that size should be kept in at least a 6'x2'x2' 180 gallon tank. It will then outgrown the 180g tank with in a few years after that.

I am hoping that you are already planning a monster tank since you do have the P-bass. As for the arowana not eating, give it some time to settle first. I've got a black and silver aro that both took several weeks to feed on a normal basis.

Thanks for the fast responses!

very nice, much better in a 150g. Unless you seen it happen don't just assume the false terror. You may want to keep the 75g available to put any aggressors in. After a few weeks you aro will be adjusted and will be able to handle aggression from the other fish.

oh ok, well i thought it would be the false terror cause he is always chasing my pbass and other fish
