Just wanted to introduce myself to the board.

Just got 2 RBPs about 2 weeks ago and they are doing great so far! I am only feeding them bloodworms right now, but when I do, they go wild over it and eat it all within 1 minute.

They are about 1.5" right now, but I keep getting the itch to throw a feeder fish in there. :naughty:

The both of em get along great too, for which I am glad. So far, a great fish to keep.

I just joined as well. I have a 120 gallon thats waiting for a few RBP. I look forward to learning on here.

What size tank are your 1.5" in?

Right now, they are in a 20 gal tank (It was a Christmas gift) I know they will need a larger tank eventually, and I am saving up for a 55-100 gallon as we speak.

For now tho, they seem to be happy in their smallish tank, they dont fight at all, they kinda hang out together in the same hiding spot. (hollow tree decoration)

Hiya Bonbguy, welcome to MFK.
It would be best to add a third piranha, if you have just 2 they will eventually fight and with piranha that usually result in one or even both being dead. It will not take long before they out grow that tank. If they are less than the size of quarters now you have maybe 6 months.

I'd get a 75 because you can find great deals on them and add 1 more P. They do best in groups of at least 3. Also, get ready for some seriously skittish behavior. I had 5 reds and they were awful. I couldn't even go near the tank without them freaking out.

i had 2 rbp's and one jumped out of the tank when i went up to it then on christmas morning they both killed each other.

I was thinking about getting a 3rd, but I feel that is way too much right now for the tank, until I get a new tank.

I will say from time to time, I see 'em chase each other. But all fins are intact, and for the most part, they hang out together in very close proximity.

They really dont seem to bother each other at all.
