New to the Family

Here is a couple of pics of a new cichlid I picked up today. Its only about 2-3" but its really nice looking. Help id too i forgot what my lfs told they were.

That's a krib...actually an African cichlid, but very nice looking little guys.

A kribensis....? Thats not what the lady at my lfs said. Hmm well ive had a krib before but it was diff. Oh well thanks.

Whatever it is it looks awesome...but I have no idea.

It'a an auratus a mbuna cichlid from lake malawi. Mean as sin these guys are.

My knowledge of Africans is mediocre at best. Looked like a krib to me, but I'd listen to the others.

There you go its auratus thank you and yes he has great colors for so young! I hope he isnt really aggressive!

Agree that's a Melanochromis auratus. They are one of the most aggressive mbuna species. I hope you have an aggressive mbuna set up for him, otherwise I'd take him back.
