New to the thread, need some tang advice

Hey All,

Im new to the forum, and I'm really interested in converting my 55g mbuna tank into a Tang tank. I just have one question really. I'm really set on getting a pair of brichardi, but I'd also like to incorporate some other species to get more of a community look. I realize the brichardi get pretty territorial. Do you think I can mix some calvus with the brichardi, if the brichardi are the last ones introduced into the tank? The tank is a 55gal, 48" long and I am planning on putting rock work in the corners and leaving the middle relatively open with maybe some shells to kinda space out territories. I would love any input, as to what other species to keep in this size tank with some brichardi. Thanks in advance,

Dan

Brichardi can become super aggro. when a pair forms and is defending fry. If you do them, stick to your plan of adding them last if you find a proven pair.

With the middle open water, shellies or Cyps. would be nice. Comps. and Calvus might eat shellie fry, but it is survival of the fittest then. Julies and other smaller Neolamp species could be used.

I just did this after having my 46 gallon bow front Malawi for 4 years. I got tired of the fighting. Your gonna have to get rid of the mubuna. I currently have Front's, calvus, daffodils, cylindricals, one peacock fry,and a huge syndonotis. My tanks at peace. I enjoy it, its a nice change from mabuna.
