Hi all! I'm Olivia. Been keeping and studying fish since I was 5yrs old. I'm 36 now so thats... A long darn time. Saying it makes me feel old lol. I'm a fancy goldfish and Koi fanatic but acquired an unwanted and very sick oscar a few months ago. I've used my general fish smarts to get it/him/her back on the mend but I don't know as much about keeping bigger predatory fish as I do smaller, less chompy fish. I'm here to learn coz I still don't know everything. So teach me oh wise ones!

For real tho, this poor fish has had it rough and I just want to be sure I'm doing things right. I look forward to learning from you all and hope I make a few friends along the way.

Welcome to the forum!
Oscars do very well with koi in the summer months, but should be taken inside before winter.

They aren't picky eaters generally, they'll eat things like pellets, flakes, crickets, raisins, earthworms, krill etc.

What are your gel food recipes?
I'm rather fond of gel foods, makes complex feedings easier

Such a Beauty. Do you have any pics from before the revival?
I wish i had taken some but was busy with a few other projects at the time. A friend of mine replaced her pond liner and all her equipment. When her fish started dying she kinda dumped the problem in my lap. Between work, kids, her mess, taking care of my own tanks, ponds, and a rehab bird, snaping pics just fell thru the cracks.
