hey coool fh......
what were u feeding him >>>> for these 6 months ??
Frozen bloodworms was like 75% of its diet and freeze dried krill. Shes a very picky eater. I got a blue diamond at the same time same size as her and she like trippled its size in no time then killed it now ive learned my lesson and shes all alone in the 55gal

Lovely looking FH !

Would suggest trying to include some quality pellets into it's diet though. These fish's guts and bodies are basically omnivorous. They need some vegetable matter in their diets too, for good long-term health. A diet of 100% bloodworm and krill is not ideal.

Thanks for the info didnt know that, ive tried feeding it tetras cichlid floating sticks and she didnt care for them today i took home some high quality koi pellets formulated for fast growth and she ate them right away so ill start adding that to her diet.

I'd like to pick up a thai silk sometime soon, I need a bigger thank though I'm thinking something 6ft.

Nice fish...but are you sure its a female? Have it laid eggs for you yet?
Okay well heres the story.

I got my flowerhorn when i had discus i put a divider up and put them together as i was looking to get rid of the discus soon, i kept the ph at 7.0 because the discus like lower ph once i sold the discus i bumped the ph to 7.8-8.0 i came home from work and saw eggs all over the glass. So either A the flowerhorn is a female and laid the eggs due to the change in ph(I thought it was a male untill this.) or B my petricola cats laid the eggs on the glass when i raised the ph. I spoke to a local breeder of the catfish and he said they usually dont lay eggs on the glass; so im thinking shes a female but who knows id love for someone to confirm. He/She/It used to have really long traillers on the fins too but now there gone if that helps in sexing it.
