Hello everyone,
My name is Chris, and I'm new to this whole thing. I have had reptiles before but never fish. I can tell already this is a great place for information, as I have been on here reading a lot on how to get an aquarium set up correctly. I started out with a 20g? or so that a coworker gave me along with a few of his cichlids that were getting beat up on, since he made the mistake and bought a few in pairs. I have already rescued 2 of his fish in this tank including a one blue johanni?, a smaller peacock, and have another one on the way supposedly.
I have an addictive personality and the fish were being really territorial in that small tank, so I went ahead and found me a 55g on craigslist for cheap. I don't know all of the scientific names yet but so far I now have it up and running with a Syno, 3 haps, and 2 mbunas. To take care of them I went with a Fluval 406 (I know a little overboard but I got a deal =P) and an Eheim Jager 200w.
