Hey guys, my name is jim. I just purchased a Canon Rebel with a 75 - 300 mm telephoto lens. Im not sure how to use the thing but hope to get some good info here to be able to photograph my other hobby - fish. i know every camera is diff but can anyone give me a simple cam set-up to see if i can get a good shot?

Post your question about the camera in Photography 101. A better solution is to try taking a few photos and posting one of the photos with the question. Easier to tell you what to change than trying to tell you how to start from scratch. Remember to include the settings you used and if you used flash.

there's a pretty detailed setup recommendation in this thread, i think it's on page 3 or 4.
