So I'm new to the site, though I've turned here before time to time when I goggled a question. I figured I'd just introduce my self and tell a little about me for my first post. My name is mike and though i do live in the midwest, MidWest is actually the company I work for. I was gifted a 29 gallon aquarium when I was ten years old, and fell in love with the hobby. I'm now 23, and I do still have that old tank, but now i have a 125, a 90, a 65, a 55, a 20 long, a 20 high, and a 5 gallon tank. In my 125 I keep two oscars and a large comon pleco, my 90 is my mixed african cichlid community tank, both tanks are running fluval fx5 canister filters and JBJ compact fluorescent lighting. The 5 gallon tank is for new africans as the come in, or anyone who chooses to be a bully in the big tank. The 65 gallon tank, a tall tank, houses a red parrot cichlid, three medium bala sharks, and my new baby tire track eels. The other tanks stock you boring run of the mill petshop fish, the 20 tall is nothing but rosie red feeders, I've planned on giving up on feeding with rosies and use this tank to breed guppies for feeders, heard this was healthier. Those are my tanks, nothing to impressive, Ive tended to put all my time and effort, as well as funds to the two big tanks, the idea had crossed my mind form time to time to give up on the smaller systems, sell the fish and invest into converting the 65 to a reef tank. 13 years in the hobby, and I'm tired of ignoring the second half of an aquarium store every time I go in to browse.
