Not new to aquariums at all, and I'm currently setting up a new tank as soon as I can get the funds.

Started off with central and south american cichlids. Probably would've stuck with it longer if I didn't have a peacock bass that was rather greedy. It ate a pleco. Here's what it looked like before!

After a few months of planning and finding some new fish to go after I redesigned. Found a fascination with denison barbs. I have 16. 4 scissor tail rasboras, 3 brilliant rasbora's, 4 SAE's, and 5 red eye tetra's (my fiance's favorite fish). Full overhaul except for the fact that I neglected to remember that I wanted to paint the backround on instead of having a tape on.

And one of the best pictures with fish in it. This was before I took the giant danio's out, they were stunting growths because they were eating all the food. After removing them all of my fish have gotten noticeably bigger. Please excuse the water marks, took the picture at random and didn't clean the outside of my glass from the last WC.

Setup and accessories:
Light - aquatic life T5HO 72" only have 2 bulbs operating for 4 hours a day actinics for 1 hour and 16 moon lights for 5 hours until midnight
the tube thing on the right - Green Machine UV sterilizer 24W
Air pump - Topfin 8000
Heater 1 300w Fluval
Filter Fluval FX5 slammed full of media.

Currently working on setting up a 120 (4x2x2) in my office and getting everything in order for that tank. Thinking about going discus.

The pink quartz on the right of the tank is very very special to me. My grandfather had it in his tank for many years, and he and my grandparents sometime 40 years ago found it in yellowstone national park. I will never be without that rock.

Surprising that no one commented at all. What no love for big community tanks? LOL

thats a really nice tank...and WELCOME to mfk ..the BEST source of aquarium hobby info ,anywhere....:)

nice tank man welcome and lets get that 120 up and runnin!

Thank you all!

Believe me I want to, but reality is I make $8 an hour. I have a wedding to plan for, and quite possibly a joint venture into a business towards the end of the year. But things are a bit different for me, so don't think I'm "struggling" but I don't have a ton of money either haha.

Need tires on my truck coming out to $1,000. After that, I have $400 comfortably saved up for a stand/canopy (Going real wood and furniture grade) then it's on to lights and a filter. Both lights and filter I can get a CHEAP price for quality products through a friend of mine. As in my 72" T5HO I got for less than $300 new and shipped to my door when it retails for 650-700.
