Just wondering what a father of 4 boys ages (6,10,14 and 15) would need for a beginers tackle box for me and my sons(we will fish for sunfish, bluegill, bass, some cats and probably trout)What would you recommend for poles for the younger guys??Thanks!!!!
I would just go to the tackel shop and get a lower end one to get you started to see how much you use it and how well you find the fish. and if you get loads of use upgrade and enjoy.
yeah this time of year you can buy those package deals at sporting goods stores. come with a little of everything good starter set with a box you can expand on to fill.
poles
walmart works.
they have some nice poles.
i got a 5 or 6' ugly stick "good pole" for like 30 or 40 bucks.
for younger kids they have smaller and cheaper poles.
then for a good tackle setup
tackle box
few sizes of hooks
extra fishing line
bobbers
weights
needle nose pliers
measuring tape
lures/fake worms/lil jigs
bait-bread/raw bacon/live worms/bait store minnows
dont forget the camera
and if you want to catch fish to bring home to your aquarium.
just get a 5g bucket with lid
battery powered air pimp
and your set
Go to the local shop. The few extra $$ you spend will pay off with great info on where to fish, how to tie a proper knot, etc. Most states require licenses for adults, so make sure you get one to avoid any fines.
