Hi Guys,
I need some help today. I have been saving up money for the last year and saving room and i am ready to build my stingray tank. I have made very few decisions on what i want/need. I need your help finding the right tank and filter. I am a carpenter by trade so i will build the stand. I am look to House 1-2 Black Diamond leosi am up to change i just want black stingrays i want darkest black and whitest white o them. 2-4 Azul peacock bass and 1-2 jardini or silver arowanas. That is the only thing i am sure of. I used to have motoros but i took up piranhas and never looked back. But i have decided that i want stingrays again and im lost on thank sizes and filters and what ever else you suggest. I live in New Jersey USA and live close to AquaScape.com and a few other majors stores that can get me the fish. I would love to do a square tank like the one in the link below same exact with drift wood but black sand but i cant find the tank any where. So Heres what i need your help
What Tank?
What Filter?
What Kind of leo
WHat else do i NEED to keep these rays safe!
Please help

Or if you are looking to just purchase a tank and can afford new cause you cant find a nice used one to your liking then order new. If I was ordering new then I would do a minimum of 6'x4' and 2' deep. But really if funds are available I would do 10'x4'. If you build your own plywood pond then the sky is the limit and/or space. Plenty of DIY ideas for ponds in the DIY section. Get some ideas then ask questions. JohnG has a very nice plywood build and so does Skynoch, Fishdog and Sjoeerd is in the process of building one right now.

I'd avoid the Jardini and opt for an Asian Aro, Jardini's are known for their bad temperament towards other fishes.

As for the tank, go as big as you can and make something with a cover for the tankmates.

i dont want to build the tank. i will build the stand no problem but i want to buy the tank. can any one post a link of a tank...for me and i have plenty of room. thanks for the thought on the aro i agree

Very nice tank...simple but interesting.
I take it your not leaving it open topped? If this was the plan then your rays will most certainly finish up on the floor.
