Just set up a free 100 gallon tank that came with a tidepool 2 sump system. I have never used one before, and set it up how I think it should go. It has been running now for 24 hrs without any problems, but I did have to adjust the discharge and intake rates to keep the tank from overflowing or the sump from overflowing. Any suggestions? I this a good system? What do I place in the 3 trays? I currently placed some extra filters from a "behind the tank " in 2 of the drawers. Where can I order the proper items? Thanks!

Neat I actually have messed with one of those. It is designed to have cheap bonded pad a carbon pad and a polishing pad in the three drawers and the bio wheel as the sole form of bio media. If you set it up as intended all of the pads can be had cheap at any pet store.

Personally I wouldn't trust the biowheel as the sole form of bio media.

I would buy filtration foam for the trays (cheaper because it can be rinsed) going from course to fine.

In the main sump compartment I would add either a couple bio home blocks or 5 or so pounds of ceramic or sintered bio media.

If you want more ideas you might try asking your local fish store. All of the stores in my area use this set up under the fish walls.
