new to turtles

what turtles need a basking area and which do not. i have heard alot of different things. Do soft shells need a basking area and what other ones do and do not.

yes softshells bask, i know frts dont need a basking area and neither do alligator snapping turtles.

Other than snappers and FRT I cannot think of any other species that would not need to bask. There are some that like a good deal of land like the box turtle as well.

i've seen many set ups for aligator snapping turtles. All of which have a major of the areas that alows for basking
