I've been reading a lot of threads regarding the wet/dry and sump filters, and I'm going to read more. I apologize if this is a repeat question. :D

I have a 65 gallon tank in the works that I want to try the wet/dry or sump thing with. I have an empty 20 gallon long tank that can be used. Here are some basic questions I have:

- Are sumps and wet/dry filters the same thing?
- By using a 20 gallon tank, does that mean that I effectively have 85 gallons and can stock accordingly?
- What are the basic setup techniques to setting up the filter? My 65 gallon is acrylic so I can drill bulkheads if needed (though that's also a completely new experience for me).

Thanks!

- Are sumps and wet/dry filters the same thing? no w/ds will have a sump, but you can have a sump with other fiter means instead od a wet/dry.

- By using a 20 gallon tank, does that mean that I effectively have 85 gallons and can stock accordingly? I wouldn't recomend, also you 20 gallon will not be completely filled, you will need to leave enough capacity so if you lose power the water will not overflow

- What are the basic setup techniques to setting up the filter? My 65 gallon is acrylic so I can drill bulkheads if needed (though that's also a completely new experience for me). I use hang on overflows so I wont give an answer on drilling. Do alot of research on this they are really quite basic in operation but they seem complicated.
