I purchased a 7.5 inch tt eel and a 5 .5 inch peacock eel. i got both eels about a month ago and have been offering them flakes, shrimp pellets and various other dried food, to include freeze dried krill. they would not take these but i guess they were eating something after the lights went out. they rarely even came out of their hiding places. today, i throw in a cup of frozen blood worms. they both came out and went into a feeding frenzy. i'm happy now, because i now kinow for sure, that they are eating and will flourish and survive in my tank.

Thanks guys for your solid advice...you have actually made a difference in my fish keeping.

while feeding the new eels and other tank inhabitants the frozen bloodworms, i added in shrimp pellets and beef hearts, inhopes that since the eels were eating the bloodworms, they might take the other items too. we'll see. has anyone had any luck with getting tt and peacock eels to take shrimp pellets or beef hearts?

nope the tt eel i had only ate market shrimp... actually ate out of my hand

My TT eats pellets (cichlid gold). Mine really likes earthworms too.

there is hope! i really do wish i could get my tt on dry food, too. it's convenient and adds variety in hte form of a somewhat balanced diet to the creature's diet. thanks.
