New Turashukin Cat - Oxydoras Niger

Hey guys picked up a Turashukin Cat today (oxydoras niger). Just wanted to hear from those who own / owned this species. Particularly what to feed, and any other cool / interesting information. I do not have a pick yet as it is still settling down in the tank hiding and dont wana disturb. Hes about 6in long.

In my limited experience they're huge pigs. I worked with 2 and they ate trout smelt zucchini banana sweet potato basically anything that went into the water they ate. Stole food meant for motoros geophagus angels etc.

Masssivore is kind of expensive for a fish that would love Purina Dog Chow.

I've raised three, I lost two to a power failure and my third one is now living at the Oregon Zoo. Mine ate mostly Hikari algae wafers, but they will eat pretty much anything. From six inches to two feet is typically about 18 months to two years, I would say.

Mine's about 11" and he's a pig, eats anything small enough to swallow that hits the bottom. Loves krill and any sinking pellets.

I've got a couple ones about 8/9" the other growing slightly quicker at 11" , they both love nls sinkers , hikari wafers and anything fresh
