Hello,
I have had an over whelming urge to keep an arowana....there, ive finally said it !!!
My name's Andy and ive been keeping fish for 30 of my 42 years.
I've been through most of the fish kieeping....i had marines and reef aquaria for 20 years and i have had a koi pond for 5 years. Last year i had a very successful Siamese fighting fish breeding project plus i also breed Bolivian Rams, Lamprologus Brichardii and soon severums hopefully. i also love my planted tank which takes pride of place in the lounge.
But ive always had this desire to keep an aro....i adore them !!! I've just seen a 3" cutie in my lfs. it was a pearl Aro (jardini i believe). I had a 4 foot tank ready and then i thought i better read up on it on your forum. Lucky i did as i now realise they are pretty evil characters !!!
So, im going to be after a small (under 6") peaceful aro...maybe a RTG or similar. It will go into my 4' tank which will be replaced by a 7x2x2. I'd like a few tankmates to...giant gourami, severums maybe, a big cat or two which i understand are all out of bounds for the jardini.
Anyway guys, that's enough ramblings, i just have to find my little beast and i'll be asking lots of questions.
Andy
